APICOECTOMY/ROOT END SURGERY

An apicoectomy procedure is performed when the patient has a persistent infection from a tooth despite root canal therapy.  During an apicoectomy procedure, the gum tissue is reflected to expose the infection and the offending tooth root.  The infection is then cleaned out and the infected portion of the tooth root is removed.  The root is then sealed and the gum tissue is sutured. Please feel free to give out office a call if you have any questions regarding an apicoectomy procedure.
